My husband still tells the story of how our home was filled with the wonderful aroma of cinnamon and freshly baked bread for a couple of weeks straight. We were up to our elbows in cinnamon rolls testing them to see if we could find the Ultimate Cinnamon Roll.
Thanks to all of you who sent in recipes. Here are our four choices. Be sure to try these recipes and see which one you think is "The Ultimate Cinnamon Roll".
Honorable Mention
This recipe gets mentioned because of the time involve in making cinnamon rolls. It is pretty much an all-day affair. (But worth it!) I also picked this recipe because it made me laugh. Lorraine Z. says this recipe has been in her family for years: "Go to the grocery store and purchase Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls in a container. Upon returning to my kitchen, I preheat the oven and put the rolls onto my favorite cookie sheet and then bake according to package directions. I make a cup of coffee and sit and wait for them to be done. My family just loves them..."
Second Runner-up
This is a wonderfully, less-stressful recipe sent in by Sarah N. The dough is mixed, kneaded and risen in the bread machine. You'll love the modern technology used with this recipe for Bread Machine Cinnamon Rolls.
First Runner-up
Matthew and Stephanie sent in this cinnamon roll recipe. Not only are these made with raisins, but they are topped with a cream cheese frosting. I know you'll enjoy their Father's Cinnamon Roll Recipe.
And The Ultimate Cinnamon Roll recipe is...
Joanne K. says she received this recipe "from my aunt at bridal shower in 1959." I love this recipe because it calls for "a generous layer of brown sugar." Brown sugar just makes the most wholesome and flavorful cinnamon roll. We just loved these rolls. Congratulations, Joanne for having what we considered to be The Ultimate Cinnamon Roll recipe.
