Our Favorite Sugar Cookies

Finally, I'm ready to post the recipe for the greatest, lightest cookies.. Once again thanks Angie...



Our Favorite Sugar Cookies

1 cup butter, softened
1 1/4 cups confectioners sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1/8 tsp. salt

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bow. cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
2. Combine the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
3. Shape into 2 5" rolls' wrap each in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.

4. Unwrap dough: cut into 1/4 " slices. Place 2 in apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.
