Raspberry/Almond Shortbread Cookies

In last months TOH Cookie Swap Nanapeg sent this recie to her partner... YUM!!
I love shortbread, and I love raspberries, so these cookies sound wonderful to me!

Raspberry/Almond Shortbread Cookies

Actually, this is not one of the cookies Kay baked and sent to me, but tried them the other day - they were soooooooo good, so had to share this recipe.
Nanapeg

Cookies
2/3 cup sugar
1 cup butter, room temp.
1/2 tsp almond extract
2 cups flour
1/2 cup raspberry jam

Glaze

1 cup powdered sugar1 1/2 tsp almond extract
2 - 3 tsp water

Directions
Beat sugar, butter & extract til light & creamy. On low, gradually beat in flour til dough forms. Cover and chill 1 hour. Heat oven to 350. Roll dough into 1" balls. Place 2 " apart on ungreased baking sheet. With thumb make indentations in center of each. Fill with jam. Bake 14 - 15 minutes til lightly browned. Cool on rack

For glaze, whisk together sugar, extract and water til smooth and drizzling consistency. Drizzle over cookies.
